The 2′s classroom bridges the gap between the Toddler classroom and the Preschool classrooms. Our 2′s are from age 2 years to 3 years. At this age, children’s attention spans are growing, they’re learning their alphabet, identifying sounds, and problem solving.  Friendships with others are an integral part of the children’s accelerated interpersonal development. The 2′s classroom has a 1:6 ratio with 2 teachers and a maximum of 12 children each day.

Miss Kristin and Miss Calli make up the co-teaching team of the 2′s Classroom.

Calli, a BYU graduate who majored in international relations, came to Bella Mente in July of 2010 and started in our toddler room. As we remodeled our classrooms to better accommodate our children she jumped at the chance to graduate with her toddlers into the 2′s Classroom. Calli is an amazing photographer and you can see some of her current work on the walls of Bella Mente using her students children as her easiest subjects.

Miss Kristin, a UC Davis graduate in American Studies has been working for 12 years in early childhood development. She has been a teacher at Bella Mente since February of 2008. Kristin started as a part time sub, quickly taking over the waddler classroom and then settling in as the 2′s classroom teacher over a year ago.  “I can’t wait to discover the world with your youngster,” she says as she prepares to take the kids for a long walk in the the Bye-Bye Buggy.
